Our School's Mission 

The St. Mary's Primary School seeks to create an environment in which the diverse talents and abilities of each students can thrive: utilizing the resourcefulness of its staff, parents and the community.

 

Goal of the Digital Strategy

Our goal is therefore to use technology to enhance learning for our students with varying abilities, interests and learning styles. It is our hope that the integration of technology, students would be equipped with the skills needed to function effectively in today's complex society.

Technology is a powerful, transformational tool that allows us meet our mission statement. It allows us to transform, support and enhance our curriculum. Technology facilitates the provision of an educational program which recognizes and values the uniqueness and learning needs of all students and supports a student-centered approach.


 Vision of the Digital Strategy

The integration of technology can develop efficiencies, empower productivity and create opportunities to transform learning. Technology allows educators to provide collaborative, data-informed instruction and adapt learning experiences to meet the needs of all learners. It also allows educators to transform their approaches to instruction and learning.

The vision of our digital strategy is to realize the potential of digital technologies to enhance teaching, learning and assessment so that students can become engaged thinkers, active learners and knowledge constructors. We hope to provide staff and students with access to a variety of technologies that will enable them to foster an environment where staff and students learn, collaborate, create and innovate together. 

Our school must therefore ensure that our students have the opportunity to develop a range of key skills and a sound base of competencies that will support their learning on transition to higher education. All stakeholders have a major role to play in achieving this vision.

    Yes, I agree! Technology must be used to improve the performance of all children especially those who are floundering in the traditional classroom. Not only will learning be transformed but students will be transformed as they are fully integrated into the learning process.

  What is a Technology Plan? A technology plan describes a school’s investment in and use of technology and how it will affect operations.  What is a Digital Strategy? A digital strategy sets up goals and objectives for how technology will be implemented and used as part of achieving those goals.   What are the Unique Needs of My School? The school is mainly comprised of students from the urban community in which the school is located. Many of these students lack the basic needs of children. Some therefore have no devices of their own, internet or electricity with which to participate in online activities at home.
